No-Shows: I have a strict policy on charging 100% of the appointment fee if you do not show up to your appointment. Yes I know, it's hard to believe anyone would not show up for a massage, but it happens - people forget or overbook or forget to tell their partner and now they have to take Sparky to the groomer's or they are in charge of carpool this week. It is your responsibility to put your appointment in your calendar when you make the appointment. The booking system does send out reminders as a courtesy, but technology is not always perfect. Just put it in your calendar! - You are getting charged for the appointment you might as well be there to get the benefit of the treatment.
Late appointment cancellation/change: If you have to cancel or reschedule your appointment you are required to give me a minimum of 24 hours notice. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice your credit card will be charged for 100% of your appointment fee regardless of the reason.
I know $hit happens. I am empathetic to the fact that people get sick (definitely do not come in if you are sick!), kids get sick, you get stuck at work, your family member is in the hospital, your car broke down, your dog ate your calendar. However, unfortunately I cannot make exceptions to this policy otherwise I would go out of business. Even with 24 hours notice it is not always possible to find someone to fill the appointment on such short notice so this is actually a very generous policy as many places have a 48 hour policy.
These policies may sound harsh, but it is necessary in order for me to run a sustainable business in which I can serve my patients/clients while also making a living.
But guess what ... not all is lost!! If you call or text me with a late cancellation, and you are able to fill the appointment time with a friend or family member who is willing to take your appointment time then they will be paying for the appointment and you will not be required to pay the fee. Please do alert me of this change prior to them showing up for the appointment, especially if they are a new patient, as they will need to fill out the appropriate health history and policy forms prior to coming in.
And ... It's a two-way street! If you cancel on me at the last minute I am losing income. If I cancel on you at the last minute you most likely aren't losing income, but you are missing out on the massage treatment that you had planned into your schedule, and I know that life is busy and you may have had to move things around or make special arrangements to fit in the massage in the first place. So here's the deal - if I am sick or have another emergency that causes me to cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, we will reschedule your appointment and that appointment will be no charge - yes I am saying it will be free! I think everyone would agree that this is a very fair policy.
If you have any questions or concerns about these policies please do not hesitate to discuss with me.
